Day 1 - The magnificent WhitsundaysUpon boarding the vessel, the crew will provide a vessel safety briefing before departing the marina at 8am. Once in the bay, set and trim the sails, enjoy the scenery and morning tea as we make way to Tongue Bay on Whitsunday Island. Once anchored, guests are transferred to the island in the five-metre tender and then taken on a guided bushwalk to Hill Inlet Lookout. Watch for birds and lizards on the walk before arriving at the viewing platform overlooking Whitehaven Beach and the Whitsunday Islands. Photos taken, it's time to follow your crew along the path to the northern end of Whitehaven Beach. This is the widest section of Whitehaven Beach where the blue swirling waters flow and the sand is pure white. Guests can stroll along the beach, explore the seashore which abounds with marine life from small crabs to mantarays, enjoy a swim or lay out a towel and sunbathe. At around midday follow your crew onto the walking trail and make our way back to the yacht for lunch. After lunch, we set sail to either Dumbell or Hook Island where the crew will provide a snorkel brief. Wetsuit and snorkelling gear on and ready to snorkel the island coral reefs, lookout for Clown Fish or other popular marine life, including turtles. Snorkelling done and back on-board Southern Cross, enjoy afternoon tea and watch the islands pass, before arriving back to the marina at Abell Point between 5:00 and 5:30pm. Please note the above itinerary is an example, and may change, based on the weather and guest comfort.
