The history of Paris has a very big connection to Palais de Justice. In the past the place was used as headquarter for administration and military during Roman times. Later, the French kings moved into the building. Today the place is a museum and Paris’ law courts.
The area includes the beautiful gothic church Sainte-Chapelle and the former prison the Conciergerie.
Over the years, the large building complex has been restored and expanded several times. Thus, it has been composed of different building styles from different periods.
