It was originally built by the Teutonic Knights, construction started in 1278 and it became the biggest brick construction in Europe. It was built over a 40 years period and during its construction 12 thousand rocks and 3.5 million handmade bricks were used. Heavily damaged after the 2nd World War, the castle was renovated and is today a museum filled with exhibitions from the old Poland.
You will see all three parts of the castle with an English-speaking guide and afterwards you will have some time by yourself to see or revisit the rest of the castle. Duration is approx. 3 hours.
