Travellers to Brazil generally miss the amazing jewels that lie to the north of Rio de Janeiro. This trip has been designed to open up these seldom visited regions. We will explore some of the most beautiful sand landscapes on the planet, visit towns which no motorized vehicles can enter, hike to stunning waterfalls and through beautiful mountains. We visit all these remote places that few non Brazilians have even heard of; Jericoacoara, Lencois Maranhenses National Park, Chapada Da Diamantina National Park, Itacare or Sao Luis, to name a few… google them! There are Brazil’s two coolest cities, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador de Bahia but it just gets better and better as we unlock the hidden gems of French Guiana, Suriname and Guyana; Caribbean beaches, the Amazon jungle and wildlife, ranches and horses, hiking, dugout canoeing and kayaking, not to mention the European Space Centre…. Yes that’s correct, it’s in French Guiana.
  • Discover the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro
  • Head underground into the gold mines of Ouro Preto
  • Guided tour of the futuristic city of Brasilia
  • Wander the streets of fascinating Lencois
  • 2 full days to explore the beautiful Chapada Diamantina National Park
  • Relax on the beach or take some surfing lessons in the eco coastal resort of Itacare
  • Sample the street food of Salvador
  • Hike in the stunning Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park
  • A truly epic trip away from the tourist trail that opens up parts of South America that are usually overlooked. A mixture of excellent roads and more difficult stuff, blend this into a trip that will suit most. Great history, landscapes, beaches, cities and culture blend this in to a most exciting journey. We mix hostels, hotels and local Pousadas with wild camping and campsites.
