Essential Tanzania Safari: Tarangire, Lake Manyara & Ngorongoro Highlights

On arrival in Arusha, meet your private safari guide either at Arusha airport or your hotel and head straight to Arusha National Park. It is recommended that you arrive no later than 10:00 to get the most out of your day. Spend the day exploring its lush montane forests, crater lakes, and open plains. Look out for giraffes, buffalo, flamingos, colobus monkeys, and more. In the evening, settle into Moivaro Coffee Plantation Lodge, surrounded by tranquil gardens just outside Arusha town.

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its vast elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Game drives here reveal lions, wildebeest, zebras, and over 500 bird species. In the late afternoon, continue to Migunga Tented Camp, set in a peaceful acacia forest near Mto wa Mbu.

Rise early for an unforgettable descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to over 25,000 large animals in a stunning natural amphitheater. Enjoy a game drive with excellent chances of spotting lion, black rhino, hippo, and vast herds of zebra and wildebeest. Pause for a scenic picnic lunch on the crater floor before ascending to the rim and returning to Crater Forest Tented Camp, nestled within the lush forests of the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Travel to Lake Manyara National Park, beautifully set beneath the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment.
