Surfing for all levels

Santa Teresa is famous for great waves and playful conditions for all levels throughout the year. The mile-long beaches framed with swaying palm trees is the perfect place for feeding your stoke. At our surf school in Costa Rica, we have provided high-quality surf courses for over a decade, so we're experts in designing packages for different skill - and ambition levels.

Level 1 Surf experience needed: 0 surfing days
Beginner - 0-4 hours surf experience needed
Level 1 is for you who have never surfed before, or if you haven't surfed in a while and want another run-through of the basics. Our surf classes at Level 1 often take place by the beautiful beach of Playa Carmen or Playa Hermosa. Here you find fun waves in clear, turquoise water and soft sand. Framed by lush jungle and swaying palm trees, the beach provides the perfect setting for your surf dream.

Ratio: Maximum 3 students per instructor

Level 2 Surf experience needed: ~ 8 surfing days
Intermediate - 10 hours surf experience needed
Costa Rica is world-famous for its cool surf scene and great waves and is the perfect place for you to grow as a surfer. Each day we go to find the best waves for your level, often heading to spots such as Playa Hermosa or our home beach Playa Carmen, only a short walk from the camp. Playa Carmen, being so close to the camp, is very convenient for free surfing.

Ratio: Maximum 2 students per instructor

Level 3 Surf experience needed: ~ 40 surfing days
Independent - 60 hours surf experience needed
Level 3 is designed to make you feel increasingly confident in the water. We'll surf beach breaks at spots like Playa Hermosa or Playa Carmen. With the local knowledge, passion and expertise of our instructors, you'll be safe and inspired while surfing some of the best spots in Costa Rica. When living at the camp, only a short walk from the beach, you also have the opportunity to keep surfing and further fuel your fire outside of the surf lessons.

What kind of yoga we offer

Our yoga classes are made with surfers in mind. Think flows that loosen up stiff shoulders, open the hips, and restore tired muscles after hours in the water.

Each session is focused on building strength, improving mobility, and helping you stay balanced both on the board and in your body.

You don’t need to be a yoga pro to join in; some guests roll out their mat for the first time here, while others bring years of practice.

Activities

Costa Rica is a place where it is easy to enjoy different activities. You can go horseback riding on the beach, take a SUP tour, rent an ATV or go check out the waterfalls by zipline through the jungle.

Accommodation

The camp is located in a lush garden with a main villa and some smaller houses, with 40 beds in total. With a great vibe and nice lounge and hangout area by the pool and the bar, the camp is ideal for relaxing after an eventful day. Within walking distance to both the beach and the city centre, everything is set for a perfect holiday. In our main villa there are two private rooms with a double bed and ensuite bathroom. We also have our bungalow double which is our most private and biggest room in our garden. All our dorms are 6 bed dorms located in smaller houses in our garden.

Choose between our dorms and double rooms, either in our main villa or in one of our bungalows. For arrivals between 28 April - 26 October 2025, it is possible to book a private single room ensuite. At our camp, all the rooms have a rustic design, plenty of light, comfortable beds and modern facilities.

Dorm
Our dorms offer the perfect blend of comfort and community for solo travelers and friends alike. These rooms are ideal for those travelling on a budget. They feature a mix of cozy bungalows with small patios and open-concept villa rooms with breezy terraces that make it easy to mingle with new friends. The bungalow dorms provide a bit more privacy, with separate toilet and shower facilities, while the villa dorms have a combined bathroom setup. Additionally, all the dorms have outside showers, so it's quick and easy to rinse off after a dip in the pool or a surf session! The bungalow dorm has two single beds (90 cm) and two bunk beds.

All of our dorms are tucked away from the main area, offering a quiet retreat from the lively buzz at the heart of the camp. Both dorm options offer a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere to make your stay comfortable and memorable, designed to give you a great experience at the camp. You’ll be assigned to one of these dorm setups, but if you have a preference, feel free to let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request!

Note: We always do our best to group dorm guests by gender. However, depending on availability, dorm rooms may occasionally be mixed.

Double Room
Enjoy a social experience at the camp while still having access to privacy. All our double rooms have air conditioning and ensuite bathrooms.

Twin Room
Our twin rooms are perfect for friends who travel together, but also available to be booked as a single room. Our twins have ensuite bathroom and access to a terrace.

Bungalow Double
This is our most spacious & private room. It’s located in a free-standing bungalow in our garden. The room comes with a proper jungle ambience.

Private Single Room
For arrivals between 28 April - 26 October, it is possible to book a private single room ensuite.

This package does NOT include an arrival transfer. The transport to and from surf lessons and activities will be by minibus.

By Local Bus
There are also public transport buses going from San Jose to Santa Teresa if you’re traveling on a budget. The price for this service is approx USD 25-30. But keep in mind you will have to get 3 buses and a ferry.

By Plane
The priciest, yet quickest mode of transport from San Jose to the camp is by plane. The closest airport to the camp is Tambor and is serviced by Costa Rica Green Air (https://costaricagreenair.com/en/destinations/).

The taxi ride from the airport to the camp takes about 40 minutes and costs approx $60 (each direction).

If you decide to arrive by plane, please let us know beforehand and we’ll order the taxi for you, as these may be hard to come by at this location. Lastly, if you’re bringing your own surfboard, please note that there is no guarantee that the plane will fit your board(s) on your flight (these are 9 passenger planes) and you may be forced to go back the next day to pick it up.

Meals

The breakfast, which is included in all packages, consists of a delicious menu of local flavours and guest favourites such as cereal, eggs and freshly baked bread served with jams, yoghurt and fresh fruit. A tasty range of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes are available for lunch and dinner, all prepared fresh on-site by our very own chefs. Some dinners are included in the package. The camp has a restaurant and bar, and they will offer lunches for purchase, as well.

Naturally, we will happily cater to any dietary requirements you may have.
