Meet Me Melbourne

Itinerary

Below is the itinerary for Meet Me Melbourne.

Day 1 - Arrival into Melbourne (Wednesday)

Welcome to Australia! Touch down in Melbourne and make your way to the beachside suburb of St Kilda, your home for the week. Check in, shake off the jet lag, and head out for a wander along the beach or grab a drink nearby. Your Aussie adventure is about to kick off.

Day 2 - Welcome, Orientation, City Walk & Night Out (Thursday)

Meet your fellow travel mates and your WTC Meet Me legend as things get underway. Start with a welcome orientation session, giving you the lowdown on working and travelling in Australia. Then head into the city to explore Melbourne properly. Wander through Degraves Street, check out the famous graffiti laneways, Chinatown, and AC/DC Lane , think great coffee, street art, and hidden gems everywhere you look. In the evening, head out for a welcome dinner to celebrate your first full day at the best backpacker bar in Melbourne.

Day 3 - Friday

This morning is all about getting set up for your working holiday. Join the WTC team for a job seminar covering everything you need to know - from how the job program works, to CV tips, interview advice, and what to expect when finding work in Australia. You’ll also get registered for your 12-month jobs program and have the chance to book one-on-one job consultations. In the afternoon, head out to explore St Kilda and South Melbourne Market with your group. Grab some food, wander the stalls, and soak up the local vibe. Tonight, it’s time for a proper night out. Join your guided pub crawl, hitting some of Melbourne’s best bars and clubs with drinks, games, and plenty of laughs along the way.

Day 4 - Peninsula Hot Springs Experience (Saturday)

After a couple of big days, it’s time to slow things down. Head out to the Peninsula Hot Springs and spend the day soaking in natural geothermal pools surrounded by bushland and coastal views. From hilltop pools to steam rooms and everything in between, it’s the perfect chance to relax and recharge. Back in Melbourne, keep the evening easy or head out for dinner with your mates.

Day 5 - Great Ocean Road Adventure (Sunday)

Up early for one of Australia’s most iconic road trips. Cruise along the Great Ocean Road, heading straight to the 12 Apostles before the crowds roll in. Take in epic coastal views, explore Loch Ard Gorge, wander through rainforest, and keep an eye out for koalas chilling in the trees. It’s a big day, but one you won’t forget anytime soon.

Day 6 - Gardens, Penguins & Bingo Night (Monday)

Take it easy this morning with a visit to the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Shrine of Remembrance - a nice change of pace and a chance to see a different side of the city. Later on, head out for penguin spotting along the coast, watching these little legends come in at sunset. In the evening, it’s time for a classic St Kilda night - bingo, drinks, music, and a good laugh with the group.

Day 7 - Grampians Adventure & Farewell Dinner (Tuesday)

Finish the week with a full-day adventure out to the Grampians National Park. Expect epic views, hikes to lookout points like the Balconies, and waterfalls tucked into the bush. Keep your eyes peeled for kangaroos and emus roaming free - this is proper Aussie wildlife in the wild. Back in Melbourne, wrap things up with a farewell dinner, sharing stories and celebrating an unreal first week with your travel mates.

Day 8 - Check out (Wednesday)

Time to check out and continue your journey - whether that’s hitting the road or getting started with work and travel.
