Working Holiday in Canada - Winter

When?

The work contract will be for the entire winter season with start in Nov/Dec 2025 and end April/May 2026.

Salary?

Average salary is minimum CAD 16 per hour, some positions pay slightly more.
Free or subsidized ski-pass or wellness package for the season (resort specific).

Subsidized staff accommodation

All the resorts and hotels we work with provide subsidised staff accommodation. The style of accommodation varies at each location but all staff housing is shared and you will expect to pay around CAN$150-$200 per week.

Hotel only work is available in the following locations and hotels
Banff - The Fairmont Banff Springs
Lake Louise - The Fairmont Chateau
Whistler - The Fairmont Chateau Whistler and The Four Seasons Resort Whistler
Jasper- The Fairmont Jasper Lodge

Any free time for skiing?

Yes, minimum 2 days off per week and any day before and after work.

Can I specify a particular position that I want to apply for?

Yes, once your application fee has been finalised and you have completed your online application you will be asked to answer our skills-based assessment test where you can put forward your application for a particular position. However, as certain positions are very popular you must consider listing a number of different preferences. Remember, flexibility is an attractive trait for all employers!

Job interview?

All interviews will take place online with ZOOM in July/August 2025 for the 2025/26 season.

Important Info

The Government of Canada now requires you to give your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) as part of the visa application process.
This is currently possible at theCanadian application centre in London, Stockholm, Paris, The Hague, Berlin, Reykjavik, Helsinki and Dusseldorf.

Silver Star
Either bus from Vancouver to Silver Star Mountain Resort approx 5 hours - 7 hours depending upon the bus company and costs approximately 120CAD.

Lake Louise
On completion of your orientation in Vancouver you would take a domestic flight from Vancouver to Calgary - 1hr 30 mins.
Once you arrive at Calgary airport, you will be able to catch a Brewster bus directly to your resort, this takes approximately 3 hours depending upon the weather conditions. There are 4 departures per day.
Lake Louise start dates vary depending on what type of job role you are offered but any program participants accepted to Lake Louise will be sent full information about organising their journey pre-departure when they receive their job offers in August, so that your travel can be organised in advance.
Lake Louise employees receive a 50% employee discount on the Brewster bus service, which means it works out to be around 50CAD per ticket for the bus.

OR

Bus from Vancouver to Lake Louise Ski Resort approx 12 hours depending on the bus company and costs approximately 145CAD.
Whilst it is a 12 hour drive, this trip is voted one of the top 10 most scenic drives in the world, and definitely something to do at least once in your lifetime!

Sun Peaks
Located in the heart of British Columbia, Sun Peaks is only a 45-minute drive from Kamloops and less than an hour by air from Vancouver and Calgary International airports. There are also regular bus services running from Vancouver to Kamloops and from there it's easy to get a bus or shuttle to Sun Peaks.
