Mount Kelimutu
Mount Kelimutu, with its tri-colored crater lakes, is one of the most amazing natural phenomenon in Flores. The three crater lakes have often changed color over the years, which only adds to the mysticism of the area. Currently, one of the lakes is black-brown, one is green, and the third is currently changing from green to a reddish color. There are two theories that about why the lakes change colors, one is the mineral contents of the water are changing. The other explanation suggests that the changing colors are a result by the neglected ancestral souls.

Todays goal is to see the Kelimutu lakes at the crack of dawn, a truly breathtaking experience. After a very early morning start you will hike to the fringes of these lakes passing through the midst of Kelimutu National Park. Once at the lakes you should be welcomed by the beautiful song of the Bare Throated Whistler as the sun slowly rises illuminating the beauty that lies below. Fresh coffee will be brewed, stunning views will unfurl and you morning will be truly magical.

Today you will go from Moni to Riung. On the way you will pass long and winding road with different views from small villages, lowland forests, and churches. Enjoy the breeze of the northern sea as you're approaching Riung.

Today you will go from Riung to Bajawa. On the way you will leave the breeze of the northern sea and drive past long and winding road through forests and small local villages. Enjoy the cool atmosphere of the town as you're approaching Bajawa.

Soa Hot Springs
The Soa Hot Springs are located in the highlands of Flores and are a perfect place to experience the true warmth and tranquility of the island. Besides being simply soothing for the mind, body and soul, the waters of these hot springs are believed to have curative effects for people with skin conditions. There are a series of natural pools with the addition of larger manmade ones that are used to accommodate all the visitors. Other than the stunning waters, another reason to visit Soa is to enjoy a traditional boxing performance called Sagi occurring in the months of May to July.

In the early morning the car drives you up to the ancient Wolobobo volcano from where you can enjoy on a clear day the stunning view over the volcanoes Inerie and Ebulobo. Afterwards you continue your trip by car along the base of Mount Inerie. Take your time to visit the village of Luba, where the local guide can explain about the village traditions. From Luba you walk to Bena, the most photogenic and best known traditional village in Ngada area.

Today you will go from Bajawa to Ruteng . On the way you will drive past long and winding road with views of Lake Ranamese, Mount Ranaka, ricefields, coffee plantation and candle nut trees and bamboo forests. As you're approaching Ruteng, you will be welcomed by cool atmosphere.

Today you will go from Ruteng to Labuan Bajo. A private car with driver is available for this trip. You can stop along the way at places such Cancar Spider Web Ricefield. A unique ricefield distribution, called Lingko. With their round, spider-web structure, these pieces of land are unique eye-catchers in Manggarai.

Please note, that entrance fees are excluded unless mentioned otherwise. Your route may be discussed with the driver during the day of travel. Duration of your private charter car is 10 hours commencing from your pickup time.

Cancar Spider Web Rice Terrace
Long before wet-rice cultivation, the ancestors of the Manggaraian people grew dry rice, corn, and tubers in the lingko fields. Every village used to own several fields. During planting and harvesting time, ceremonies and ritual offerings were held at the lodok, the ritual center of the lingko. The lodok features a wooden pole and a rock. These two objects symbolize the reunion of the male and female, the heaven and earth, and the creation of humankind. Even though these fields still exist today, their agricultural and ritual context has changed drastically.
