During this tour, students will be familiarized with how the Second World War started, its impact, what happened in Czechoslovakia after the war, the period of the socialist regime, and how Czechoslovakia became a democratic country in 1989.
The highlight is a visit to the Cold War Museum located in a former nuclear bunker beneath Hotel Jalta, offering an authentic insight into life under the communist regime and the atmosphere of the Cold War era.
The Jalta Nuclear Bunker in Prague was a secret anti-nuclear shelter located beneath the luxury Hotel Jalta on Wenceslas Square. It was used to protect communist leaders and the command of the Warsaw Pact, and also served as a listening station for the State Security (StB). Today, it has been transformed into the Cold War Museum and is open to the public, offering a glimpse into the past with its original equipment preserved.
