The diving around Paje is pristine with some of the finest corals to be found in East Africa. There is a protected natural lagoon only ten minutes away by boat, a great choice for all levels of divers and accompanying snorkelers. The dive sites close to Paje offer a number of good safe and protected dives also in the rougher rainy season and in general for beginners. Doing the Open Water course in Paje, you will experience the amazing marine life, the instance you are ready to leave the swimming pool. Even the dive sites for beginners are full of exciting things to explore.

In addition, you have a number of sites on the outer reef within a 25-minute boat ride of the dive center, offering a wide variety of bigger fish like king fish, yellow fin tuna, barracudas, reef sharks, turtles, napoleon fish and from time to time dolphins. But, the biggest and the best - but only in season - humpback whales! That would be something for your logbook...

Situated on the beautiful east coast, Paje is the perfect place for not just a diving holiday, but also to explore the Island of Zanzibar. You can easily reach “must see” places like Stone Town, Jozani Forest and Nature Reserve, Spice Farms and of course amazing dive sites! Hang on the beach, chill in the hammocks or go active with kite surfing – a sport that is very popular in the area due to the soft sandy bottom and shallow water.
The PADI Open Water Course is performance based. That means you have to understand and pass the theory and perform the in-water skills correctly and with ease. Therefore, the itinerary can vary slightly from course to course. The course will take 3 to 4 days depending on the students enrolled. To enroll in the PADI Open Water Course, you must answer No to all questions on the medical statement. If you anser a question with a Yes, a doctor must sign the statement before you can dive. DIVE PACKAGE:
The PADI Open Water Diver course is the most popular diving certificate worldwide. After completing this 3-4 day course you are certified to dive to 18 m independently with a buddy. The course consists of five modules of learning. You study via self-study workbook and complete a knowledge review. The instructor reviews everything with you to ensure that everything are confidently understood. The practical learning consists of pool sessions and four open water dives. The final stage of the PADI Open Water course is an exam, which is a multiple choice exam covering all that you have learnt. The course generally takes 3 to 4 days, with the theoretical, the pool and the open water part successfully passed. The atmospheric accommodation of Ebb & Flow is located in the middle of Paje Beach. A lively, laid-back and youthful town. Ebb & Flow is within 5 minutes walk to restaurants, bars, coffeeshops, shops, kite centers, and public transport. But above all, you are just a stone’s throw away from the sugar-white sand and turquoise-water of Paje's glorious beach, which you can see from the swimming pool!

Your room
As a standard, you’ll be booked in a mixed dorm room at Ebb & Flow. The dorm rooms are large and apartment style, with 6 beds spread out on 2 floors. Hot water showers and fan cooling.
For absolute privacy, you can upgrade to your own private apartment when booking your diving package.

Lokal transport

Transport is NOT included in the package - but the hotel can easily pick you up anywhere on the island.
